Brand design is the process of realising a business. It is a two-stage process, beginning with research & development, and then the production of business brand assets. What’s important about brand design is that it is a formative step, whose decisions impact subsequent developmental stages of the business. That’s why we incorporate brand design into our Integrated Website Design Solutions. After all, a website is an expression of a business, but you can’t express something you don’t understand. In the brand design process, we work with you to develop understandings of the business that flow through into all other aspects of the business.
Who Brand Design is For
The brand design process is for any business or organisation looking to exist in a competitive environment. In this day and age, that means it is relevant for all businesses and organisations! It’s especially important for new businesses, since the early implementation of brand design can help to avoid problems later as the business grows. Brand design can also be revisited later by established businesses, as an incremental stage or complete re-brand.
What Problems Does Brand Design Solve?
Here are some examples of the problems that are solved by brand design:
- I’m not sure what my business should look like.
- I don’t know which customers to focus on.
- I don’t know how I’m different from my competitors.
- I don’t feel my business has a voice.
- People don’t have a consistent experience when they encounter my business.
What is Involved in Brand Design?
Our brand design process has two stages, Research & Development & Production:
Research & Development
We use evidence-based research to underpin the development of your brand. We explore the operational environment of your business. We approach the development of your brand from multiple angles, and find intersections between your business objectives and your customer objectives, and investigate these to find ways your business brand can help them meet in the middle. We create the concepts and themes that will underpin all business endeavours.
In the production stage, we create the identity of your business. This will include your logo, colour scheme, typography, graphic assets, and conceptual statements that communicate who you are and what you’re all about. By the end of this stage, the business will have an identity – it will be a real thing ready to take your products and services to market.
